I feel fantastic and I’m still alive

Yeah, yeah I know, it’s been a while. Don’t look at me like that.

Time to check in:

I started a new job in January. It’s been relief to get somewhere new and not be a “permanent” temp. This one’s only a six monthly so things are still up in the air. I don’t know yet if the contract will be renewed. Time will tell, but here’s hoping they can find somewhere for me within the organisation.

Upper Hutt’s Newest Bookshop

Writer’s Plot has expanded! Our local writing group, A Writer’s Plot (who meet at the Upper Hutt library) has branched out with the help of Cat and Caro.

Since this morning there is now a bookshop opposite the Upper Hutt train station, selling fiction written by New Zealand authors.

Cat and Caro have grand plans for the shop including book clubs, writing courses, author talks, storytelling sessions, and other events.

And guess what? Two of the books on their shelves include short stories written by me!

Guest Post on A Jay In The Life

Over on A Jay In The LifeJay writes about anxiety, motivation, and the low FODMAP diet, which expands to Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols (yeah you can see why they made it an acronym) which helps sufferers of IBS.

I worked on a mini guest post earlier in the month about decision making with anxiety. You can find it on her blog over here.

See, that’s how cross-promotion works!

If you would like to guest post here just flick me an email or DM.

Life Is Strange: Suicide

Spoiler warning: This post will reveal major spoilers from Life Is Strange Episode 2: Out of Time.

Life Is Strange is an episodic adventure game in the vein of Telltale narrative adventure games like The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones. The world of Life Is Strange can best be described as Groundhog Day meets Twin Peaks, and the developer Square Enix isn’t shy about this. You can find ‘Fire Walk With Me’ graffitied on a mirror in the diner bathroom.

Hasta Liebster, baby!

A special thank you to Jay for my Liebster award nomination. That was very kind of you.

From what I gather the Liebster award promotes blogs amongst your blogging pals. It’s like a chain letter, but one that gives you that warm fuzzy feeling instead of that ‘oh god, my loved ones are all going to die if I don’t pass this onto fifty people’ feeling.

Now my answers to Jay’s questions:

1. Do you like piña coladas? And getting caught in the rain?

Cocktails? Now you’re speaking my language. This recipe is my go to:
