For five days starting October 11th the annual New Zealand Improv Festival will take centre stage at BATS Theatre in Wellington.
The festival is in its fourth year and invites Improv groups from around the country as well as overseas.
“The New Zealand Improv Festival showcases the best that New Zealand has to offer in spontaneous theatre,” says the Wellington Improvisation Troupe.
This year features The Wellington Improvisation Troupe and The Improvisors from Wellington; The Court Jesters and Up Against Improv from Christchurch; Chicken Legs Theatre from Auckland; Rebecca De Unamuno from Sydney and Jason Geary from Melbourne.
Improv or Improvisational theatre is a type of theatre whereby participants must create scenes spontaneously without scripts or rehearsal.
