Silicon Valley

Thrown off my game, a day late, but One Cool Thing is here to satisfy your thirst in learning the hottest in cool from yours truly. Okay, I may have gone a little overboard there. Ahem..

Silicon Valley, created by Mike Judge, John Altschuler, and Dave Krinsky, is an HBO comedy series about a group of young computer programmers starting up fledgling company in Silicon Valley, home of all things tech.

The humour is akin to something like Big Bang Theory, so in other words pretty juvenile. But for some reason I can’t help but love it. Silicon Valley is the heart inside the silicon chip that is the computer industry. It’s a group of awkward but loveable nerds working towards a common goal.

Christopher Evan Welch who plays Peter Gregory sadly passed away during the filming of the series. His performance is utterly brilliant as an eccentric billionaire, filling in the world of the show. Silicon Valley also pokes fun at the absurdity of working at giant Internet corporations with Hooli, AKA Google. So it’s not just a show about a group of immature guys sharing a roof over their heads — but that’s pretty cool too.
